Some time ago in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, UNESCO conducted an interesting experiment, which really says a lot about contemporary humans. How do we judge others? Do we always help others without expecting anything in return, or are there determinants that guide us in selecting the people to whom we lend a helping hand?

The most important person in the experiment was six-year-old Anna, who played two roles. First, she was a girl from a wealthy family and then a neglected girl from a poor family. In both cases she played a lost girl in a crowd looking for someone to help her find her parents. The conclusions of the filmmakers are very sad…

Little Anna sought help among the customers of a restaurant. When she was dressed as a small rich girl, people’s reactions were positive – people wanted to help her. Whereas when dressed as a poor, dirty and neglected girl – all she got were negative reactions and in most cases she was simply ignored.

As a result, the little actress burst into tears, and this reaction shouldn’t come as a surprise…

UNESCO urges that we shouldn’t remain indifferent to the misery and suffering of children. Worldwide there are – according to UN estimates – up to 150 million homeless children who crave warmth and interest just as much as children from wealthy families…
