In the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland there is a small pine grove with 400 unusual trees. Each of them is deformed at the trunk in the form of a little bow. Almost all of them look alike!
Supposedly pine trees were planted there in the 1930s on terrain that then belonged to Germany. Now some of them are up to 12 meters high (40 feet). The German photographer Kilian Schönberger decided to capture their beauty with some great photos. After seeing the pictures, many people began to wonder where their odd shape came from.
Experts say that it was because of intentional or mechanical human activity. In this way they wanted to obtain adequately formed wood, for example, to make boat parts or profiled parts for furniture and other things.
Another unlikely theory is that it was caused by heavy snowfall that was lying on the wood for a long time. We think that the first hypothesis seems to be more realistic.
And you, do you have your own theory on this subject? We encourage you to share your opinions in the comments.
