A one-year-old cat fell on high-voltage cables. Seriously injured, she was dying in pain on the street. There was only one person in the crowd who decided to help the cat

It is wrong to ignore pain and suffering because our reaction may save someone’s life.

We cannot help all the people in need but it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t take any action when we see suffering. It doesn’t matter if it is a person or an animal that is in pain. A decent human being should offer the poor creature proper help and support.

Chiang Mai is a city in northern Thailand with 250 000 inhabitants. One of them is Walai Sriboonvorakul, 49. More than 2 years ago the woman was walking down the street when she saw a wounded cat and decided to help the animal although nobody believed that it would survive, let alone its full recovery.

Walai was right not to let the cat die. Today the animal is happy despite the permanent effects of the accident. What is more, the internet has fallen in love with the cat because, in spite of all the pain she has been through, she is still a sweet, cheerful and independent ball of fluff.
