Wisdom comes with age. Unfortunately.
Growing up is probably the hardest thing in a person’s life. At the same time, a teenager has to deal with a hormonal storm, which has a lot of influence on their behavior, and also has to make very important decisions about their future, mainly education and, consequently, their path of professional development.
Teenagers feel so lost and are often unable to cope with emotions. They feel misunderstood by the adult world or are too often advised, which only intensifies their unwillingness to talk to their parents, teachers, grandparents or neighbors.
The lack of authority in the modern world only exacerbates this problem. Youths are lost and unable to establish a hierarchy of values or set a life purpose. Therefore, they need advice from older generations, but such advice given with a smile and kindness, and not proclaimed as absolute truths which, without reflection, they must accept.
To help teenagers who are growing up to become adults, some forty-year-olds were asked to write down their advice. There was one condition: it would be advice from the heart, based on their own experiences, not buzzwords which sounded like them came from a good education manual.
