After showing her picture on the Internet, she was flooded with a wave of hate. It’s all because her skin is different from the standards created by the media
People can be mean, especially if they are anonymous like in the Internet. Em Ford, a 27-year-old ex-model, conducted an experiment that goes far beyond the standards of beauty created by the media.
She put up her picture without make-up on and received over 100000 comments, most of them negative. That’s why she’s recorded this short video, where she presents herself in full makeup and without it. It also started a landslide of comments. Ford said: “I wanted to create a film that showed how social media can set unrealistic expectations on both women and men. One challenge many face today, is that as a society, we’re so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that It can be hard to remember the most important thing – You ARE beautiful. You are beautiful – no matter how flawed you feel, no matter how upset you may about the way you look or how hard you find it to make friends, or be confident. Believe in yourself, and never let anyone tell you’re not beautiful – not even yourself.”
Em Ford posted her picture without makeup, showing her skin, which diverges from standards created by the media.
After a landslide of comments, especially negative ones, she decided to create this video, which shows her in full makeup and without it.
If you liked what message this amazing girl is sending then share with your friends on Facebook, after all we are all beautiful, all we have to do is believe it.
These are pictures of a very attractive girl whether au naturel together with minor blemishes that we all have from time to time or whether after a professional make up job. As for the tasteless comment about waking next to her in the morning, I imagine one would feel blessed and honoured to do so, in the right circumstances (involving love and marriage).
I think that she is adorable, either way, but for my preference without unnatural enhancement.
Thank you!
She is a very pretty lady with or without make up. Those rude comments come from people who don’t have friends and likely don’t even like themselves.
Those that only value beauty from what they see with their eyes are easily deceived and must be pitied for their short coming. Beauty describes a whole package, not a cherry picked one.
Having spots/acne etc is not debilitating, except to those that accept the thoughts and opinions of shallow minded people, much the same way aids sufferers and lepers were shunned, for the wrong reasons. They are the ones that shout and speak slowly to anyone in a wheelchair, or talk about sufferers with downs syndrome whist in their company not acknowledging them as a person, these are the true disabled people.
The truest ugly people are those that feel they are so worthy that they can force their negative opinions on people they have never met. In reality they do so to deflect anyone actually looking too closely at them.
In life, when something unique is discovered, it is considered rare and must be preserved and admired. Every single human that has ever lived, is unique, so what has changed? Is it that humans are the only species that have become materialistic and judgemental over every living and non-living thing in this universe?
