For almost over 2000 years ago a natural disaster wiped Pompeii off the face of earth. A busy city full of life located below mount Vesuvius was completely annihilated. In the year 79 on November a volcanic eruption covered the city with volcanic ash and lava poured all over it. People didn’t have the capacity to escape, so they’ve been conserved in their original positions for ages. Pompeii was lost till 1738, when it was discovered by archeologists. From that moment, Pompeii has become a city continuously rediscovered and examined, and this week archeologists have made a shocking discovery.
Archeologists have found an entire family, who has been buried under ash. The boy was most likely running to his mother.
Stephany Giudice emphasizes that the research is very important and they aren’t just examining fossils, but real human life.
During the excavations, 86 bodies have been discovered.
