Siberian summers do not last long. Snow remains until May, and winter returns in September. These extremely difficult conditions discourage people from living in such a place, but sometimes there are daredevils who voluntarily decide to settle there.
They are not deterred by the climate and the large amount of dangerous predators prowling in the woods. They can do anything to adapt and live a “normal” life.
This article is about such a case. A family lived on a remote Siberian area far from civilization for 40 years. No one had ventured in this place in a long time and it had not been studied by scientists up until 1978. Then a group of specialists under the direction of Galina Pismenskoy decided to go near the vicinity of an unnamed part of the river Abakan (near the Mongolian border). The helicopter pilot was looking for a place to land and saw a small rectangular clearing.
What did the researchers stumble upon? More about this on the following pages.
