I love dishes that can be prepared in one pot, specifically those that require hardly any effort. It’s not every day that I want to cook elaborate meals. Stress, fatigue – all this affects my willingness to spend a few hours in the kitchen. That’s why I’m very grateful for these types of recipes. Within 15-20 minutes I have a dinner for the whole family. Zero effort, not counting chopping the ingredients and frying them.
A version for the extremely lazy includes the use of a pre-made Bolognese sauce, although you can definitely make the same sauce yourself and enjoy the taste of a completely homemade version of this dish. I came across a deal where a 20 oz. jar of sauce cost less than a dollar. That’s why I chose the recipe with the pre-made sauce… and I wasn’t disappointed! This “pot” is extremely delicious and filling 🙂
- 1 tbsp olive oil,
- 1 medium onion, cubed,
- 14 ounces smoked sausage (I used kielbasa), thinly sliced
- 2 cups chicken broth,
- 12 ounces of penne pasta,
- 24 ounces of bolognese sauce (or your favorite tomato sauce),
- 1 cup water,
- 1 cup shredded cheese.
