Thanks To Her Own Investigation, The Daughter Found Her Mother After 52 Years!

A local newspaper published an article about Lucy Ann Johanson as an example of one of the oldest unsolved disappearances in the area. This motivated the daughter of a woman to carry out her own investigation… The mother of Linda Evans – Lucy Ann Johanson got lost more than 50 years ago, when her daughter was seven years old…

Linda thought that her mother died, because she never established a contact with her. The truth, however, turned out to be very different …

The girl knew that her mother was born in Alaska, so she put an ad in the “Yukon News”. She gave mother’s name and surname, date and place of her birth and the name of her grandparents.

She was hoping that someone will give her any information about the mother.  She started getting e-mails, answering the phones. Finally, one day a woman called who said that she knows Lucy, because it’s her mother!  The woman exchanged correspondence and it turned out that Linda finally found her mother!

Lucy Ann is now 77 years, she is alive and well.  Lucy’s husband reported her missing one year after the actual disappearance (in 1961). The police assumed that she had been a victim of a crime, possibly committed by her husband. However, he has never been charged.

Linda never thought she will manage to find her mother. Now she wants to see her as soon as possible.  She would like to just hug her, to become a part of her life and, of course, to ask her a lot of questions.
