You never know how the day will end; you may think that sitting in your own home is safe and nothing will happen.
Unfortunately, this is a misleading opinion since accidents occur even in the shelter of your home and the terrible event of a fire often explodes unexpectedly, violently, and does not give you a chance to save yourself. One must then decide whether to wait for help or risk something even worse. There is no time to calculate everything that can happen. You have to act.
Vitalij of Sturnino in Russia found out about this conundrum. He experienced a horrible nightmare that it was on his shoulders that the fate of the whole family rested. Vitalij and his wife were at home with their children, 3-year-old Ksenia and 11-month-old Eugenia. When they smelled the smoke, it was already too late. The fire that had struck the neighbors had already taken the entire staircase. There was no chance to run through the door.
Vitalij quickly decided to throw the children and his wife out the window. Cut off from the stairs, the family felt the floor in their apartment getting hotter and saw the smoke hit every corner. They had no choice. The neighbors near the entrance screamed not to throw them, but instead to wait. Others quickly organized some makeshift materials to reach firefighters.
Vitalij threw the blanket out quickly. Balconies made everything especially dangerous. A strike from the fifth floor would be fatal. At first, Vitalij threw small Eugenia, then Ksenia, and then his wife. When his family was safe, he made a sign of the cross and jumped.
Neither the wife nor the children suffered even a scratch. Vitalij, with serious injuries, went to the hospital, the rush of his body was too large and the man damaged his spine. Fortunately, the entire family is now safe and has received help.
