Going to the store, we don’t even know how many of the goods come from distant China. Among those goods is garlic, prized for centuries, as a food that has many medicinal properties and is used in the folk medicine of many nations.

All garlic is not equal and it’s better to choose the domestic garlic than one imported from China. The fact that Chinese garlic must travel thousands of miles to find itself on the shelf of a neighborhood store, should be cause for concern, because such a long trip requires effective conservation.
