We know that sugar is unhealthy, but we can’t stop eating it. It is added to almost everything and sometimes we eat it completely unconsciously.
Just read the labels and pay attention to what seemingly safe and slimming products have inside. Unfortunately, most of them contain sugar and it’s not in small amounts. Sparkling drinks, juices, yogurts, jam, breakfast cereal, ketchup, bread … we could go on forever. It’s really hard to find products that do not have any sugar.
Sugar should supply about 10% of our total energy. This means that each day we can eat about 40-50 g of sugar (no more than 5 teaspoons). However, we eat much more than that, exceeding these standards multiple times. Excess sugar in the body manifests itself in various ways. True, it provides energy, but for a short period of time. It significantly disturbs the glucose level in the body and irritates the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum. It acidifies the body and contributes to reflux, heartburn, ulcers and inflammation.
