We never know what scenes fate is writing for us.
Today we’re beautiful, young, without cares or worries, and after some time we grapple with problems that w couldn’t even dream about in our darkest nightmares. We can also never predict how we would behave in a difficult situation, because life often confirms our plans and decisions. It’s not always easy to ask for help. The toughest people, especially from our grandparents’ and great-grandparents’ generation, fight on their own despite mounting obstacles. It’s a good thing we can find people who – despite not being asked to help – lend them a helping hand.
Jessica Pittman was riding to her family’s hometown, Gulfport, in the state of Mississippi. At a certain moment she noticed an elderly pair standing by their SUV, which was parked on the side of the road. Curious, the woman stopped her car and started a chat with the tremendously sympathetic folks.
The woman found out that Kenneth Smith and his wife, Helen, sell firewood to pay for the wife’s medical bills. Helen was diagnosed with lung cancer, that’s why, without hesitation, Kenneth cut wood, packed it into bags, and attempted to sell it to repair their household finances. A bag costs 5 dollars.
