In Asian countries the living conditions of the animals at the zoo are not the best. Pets are often malnourished and deprived of veterinary care.
Only the neighbours in the cages next to them know how reality looks like.
At the zoo in Phoenix (Japan), one of the orang-utans shows that animals can afford a human gesture. A 21-year-old male feeds starving colleagues in the opposite cage. He gives them every day pieces of food. Thus, he feeds the nine hungry chimpanzees.
Seemingly small gesture, but it proves that animals can sympathize and sometimes are more humane than humans.
