No work is a dishonor, but doing certain occupations have a particular reason to be proud. The most valued profession includes those that rely on the service of the other person and help them. Undoubtedly, such a job can be classified as a firefighter.
A firefighter’s profession is very dangerous and every trip to a fire scene involves the risk of losing health and life. In addition, this work is very psychologically burdensome because firefighters are almost always in contact with human suffering.
Fighting fire apparently seems easy – just spray the flames over with water and after the problem is gone. It is a pity that reality is not so easy, since mastery of the element requires knowledge and experience, especially if the fire goes wild in the open forest, for example.
The beginning of summer this year was quite hot on the Iberian Peninsula and in Portugal a massive fire broke out, the last of which destroyed as many as 50 hectares of greenery! Unfortunately, the element has deprived many of their lives, and another 47 people were burned alive in their cars, trying to escape the fire.
To fight the raging element, nearly 1700 firefighters and soldiers were involved in the action. No one spared their strength, and extinguishing the flames lasted for 6 days. For the firefighters, it was a murderous marathon: firefighters spent entire days and nights fighting the fire, resting only for a moment when they could.
