Russ came from a poor family and spent his long life in his homeland – serving in the army, then working, and still working in scouting. When he was young, he played poker, once when he had a lot of money, his brother persuaded him to invest $ 1,000 into a new store that was a combination of a pharmacy and a drugstore. Russ’s brother said it was a great investment because people always need medicine and women’s cosmetics.
Over time, the value of the company’s shares grew. The drugstore network grew and their stocks grew. Russ thinks he never needed to use that money. He did not like expensive food, nor did he need gadgets. He thought that if friends found out that he had such money, it would ruin their relationships. When he reached the age of 95, he said that he would do something with the money. And he came up with an unusual idea.
