Obesity is a lifestyle disease which becomes more and more common and influences younger and younger people.
Excess body fat has a negative effect on health and causes various problems with joints, bones, nervous system, digestive system, blood circulation, breathing, fertility and results in general discomfort. It also damages mental health and self-esteem of an obese person. Not surprisingly, most of the people with extra kilograms try to get rid of them at some point – to feel better or because of health problems.
There are many ways of treating obesity. Some people just get their lives together and go on a healthy diet and start exercising. But there is also a group of people who look for other methods. Some of them undergo a stomach shrinking operation, some choose liposuction and some… eat tapeworm eggs (!). There is another strange (at least for Europeans) method of obesity treatment offered by the Changchun Kangda Hospital in China. The patients are… set on fire!
