There is an immense amount of various detergents available in stores. When purchasing them, we usually make our choice based on price or product brand. It’s also important to consider the clothes we want to wash, since colors and black and white fabrics should be washed in completely different liquid or powder laundry detergents.
Price doesn’t always go hand in hand with quality and efficiency, so it’s best to conduct a test with the use of a hard-boiled egg. This way, you’ll be sure that the detergent you bought will handle stains well and that it’s worth choosing again.
What do you need to do?
To determine the quality of a detergent, the best method requires a hard-boiled chicken egg. It has to be put into a glass of water in which the detergent has been dissolved in and left to sit for 24 hours.
If after this time the egg will remain unaffected, this means that the detergent is not the best quality.
If the egg begins to soften up and dissolve, that’s a sign that the detergent should be used to wash dark fabrics which are slightly soiled.
If the egg white completely dissolves, you can be sure that you bought a decent detergent, which should deal with even the most difficult stains.
