Nature, in itself, never ceases to surprise a person.

Natural phenomena occurring in it have a variety of different types of character. Some are terrifying due to their strength, others inspire, and others delight in their unique and elusive beauty. Some of the most enchanting natural phenomena include the rainbow, the omen of happiness and good weather.

The rainbow is created by the splitting of light, which is broken down by a drop of water (sunlight or moonlight illuminates the raindrops suspended in the atmosphere), resulting in a multicolored arc. The following colors appear in the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

The rainbow effect can always occur when there are drops of water in the air and when the sun is shining, not necessarily only in the rain or just after it. A clear, real rainbow may be accompanied by pale secondary rainbows (in nature one can see secondary rainbows and in laboratory conditions as many as 19). Small rainbows also appear in reservoirs, around which are dispersed numerous water molecules (fountains, waterfalls).

It is well known that the rainbows are shaped in an arc, so builders from St. Petersburg were shocked when they saw a round rainbow after a rain downpour! It was a breathtaking sight, but fortunately the gentlemen did not lose their cool heads and they all recorded the rainbow and later put it on YouTube.

The rainbow was shot from the building site of the skyscraper at Lakhta Center, which is over 360 meters high! Specialists call this recording unique because a spherical rainbow is a huge rarity.
