People’s character is shaped by many internal and external factors. Things that influence your personality include, among other things, your internal experiences, your socio-cultural environment, your family and friends, and genes.
Caretakers have a large influence over a child’s development and character. The offspring are under their wing for a long-time, observing adults, and having their personality shaped. Parents pass down the main norms, rules and behaviors. It’s up to them to decide which characteristics their child will develop and which ones to put out.
