The amount of sugar in popular food products. Think twice before you buy them!

Not without reason is it said that sugar is “white death.” Its excessive consumption causes diabetes, obesity, increased cholesterol levels, weakens the immune system and robs the body of vitamins and minerals. It has been found that cancer cells feed on it and it has been connected to the development of pancreas, stomach, breast, and colon cancer.

The solution seems simple – to reduce the risk of these serious illnesses, it’s enough to limit its intake. It’s hard, however to do so, because it’s added to almost everything. A lot of food products are sweetened in order to improve the flavor. It has been estimated, that in the United States, fructose syrup is added to 80% of all processed foods!

In 1957, refined sugar was classified a poison because it was harmful and completely devoid of vitamins and minerals. It quickly became the third most addictive substance, falling only behind alcohol and cigarettes.

Before you reach for your favorite sweet snack, see how much sugar is in it! This may discourage you from eating a Snickers candy bar or drinking a Coca-Cola. Wouldn’t it be better for you to eat a sweet fruit?
