It’s estimated that there are 1200 white tigers and about 300 with lions in the world. They are most certainly the rarest species of cat in the world! Last year, a special event happened at the institution T.I.G.E.R.S. Sanctuary. 4 wonderful kittens were born. Their mother is a whit tiger and the father is a white lion.
The tiny cubs are too cute. They were named Yeti, Odlin, Sampson, and Apolla. The animals were classified as ligers, a crossover between a lion and a tiger.
This kind of connection would probably never happen in nature! Ligers usually grow larger than tigers and lions. The males are sterile, and the females are completely capable of reproduction. In captivity, their lifespan ranges from fifteen to twenty years. It’s several years more than an average individual in the wild!
