Why are cats terrified of cucumbers? The answer is ridiculously simple!

Each of us is afraid of something. Some people don’t like spiders, others are afraid of the dark, while others do not like rats and snakes. It turns out that cats also have their phobias and panic at the sight of cucumbers.

In recent times, the internet has been flooded with videos depicting cats in confrontation with this vegetable. Their behaviors are very similar. The animals usually run away or jump in fear. While some situations are quite funny, there are also some puzzling ones. The question then arises as to what did they imagine, since they responded so abruptly?

In the videos, a cucumber is placed next to the cats, while they’re eating. At this point, they are very quiet and do not suspect anything. When they turn around, they notice the stressor, which in turn disrupts their nervous system. They activate the sympathetic nervous system responsible for complete readiness and usually frightened, bounce sideways or puff their fur.
